Germany's dependence on Russian gas has shown how critical economic ties can be in the event of a conflict. The billions invested by German companies in China are therefore also a cause for concern. According to a recent study, however, the profits from these investments and the associated dependencies are smaller than assumed. The EU is much more important here.
