Speech of former German president Joachim Gauck during the celebration of the Bertelsmann Stiftung's 40th anniversary on May 3, 2017 in Theater Gütersloh.

The opening address was given by Liz Mohn, vice-chair of the Bertelsmann Stiftung's Executive Board. Furthermore, the Bertelsmann Stiftung's chairman and CEO, Aart De Geus, addressed the audience.
