Short Vita

  • Dr. Thieß Petersen holds a degree in economics and has worked for the Bertelsmann Stiftung in Gütersloh since 2004. As a Senior Advisor, he specializes in macroeconomic issues, having studied economics in Paderborn and Kiel. From 1992 to 1996, he worked as a research assistant at the Institute for Theoretical Economics at Kiel University. He later became a research assistant and lecturer in economics at the University of Applied Sciences in Heide (1997–1998). From 1998 to 2001, he was Managing Director of DAG-Forum Schleswig-Holstein e.V., a trade union-affiliated educational institution in Kiel, and, from 2001 to 2004, its successor organization, ver.di-Forum Nord e.V. In addition to his work for the Bertelsmann Stiftung, he is a lecturer at the European University Viadrina in Frankfurt (Oder) and the author of economics textbooks.
