Short Vita

  • Since 2006, Ulrich Kober has held senior positions in the programs Integration (2006–2010), Integration and Education (2010–2020) and Democracy and Social Cohesion (as of 2021). He was responsible for the 2008 Carl Bertelsmann Prize on "Integration through Education" and the 2015 Reinhard Mohn Prize on "Fair Migration." He contributes his expertise to the State Integration Advisory Board in North Rhine–Westphalia and the advisory group for NesT (Neustart im Team), the joint government-civil society resettlement program organized by Germany’s Commissioner for Integration. Before joining the foundation, he was active in education projects (in-school and extracurricular) focusing on political and social issues in Germany, Colombia, Belgium and the UK as a member of the international Jesuit order. He holds degrees in philosophy, theology and sociology (London School of Economics and Political Science).
