A Fading Institution - 25 years of the World Trade Organization: the WTO through the media looking glass
Since the mid-2000s, the intensity of public perception of the World Trade Organization (WTO) has declined considerably. Multilateral approaches have gradually disappeared from trade policy discourses. The debate is increasingly dominated by national perspectives. Only the protectionist trade policy of US President Donald Trump has shifted the focus back to the WTO.
