The economics of apprenticeship training – Seven lessons learned from cost-benefit surveys and simulation

In recent years, company apprenticeship training costs and benefits have been investigated in several countries by educational economists Stefan Wolter and Samuel Mühlemann. This paper provides general conclusions based on these studies. It focuses on key factors such as training duration, apprentice remuneration or the relationship between theory and practice. The challenge is always to guarantee high-quality training for young people as well as make training attractive from a company perspective. Read more
