Description

Entrepreneurs are more likely to come from academic households: Six out of ten come from families in which at least one parent has an academic degree - a quarter have an entrepreneurial background in their parents' home.

The family background, especially the parents' level of education and their professional careers, shapes entrepreneurs. Parents are role models, encourage their children to start a business and provide them with a network. This is shown by our recent study with the German Startup Association, for which 1,800 startup entrepreneurs were surveyed.
